IAMT strives to work in the spirit of its mission statement. This includes our efforts to promote the advancement of Music Therapy as a professional discipline in the state of Illinois through public education and advocacy. Currently the Illinois State Music Therapy Recognition Task Force is working with IAMT, the American Music Therapy Association and the Certification Board for Music Therapists to establish recognition for Music Therapy within the state of
Illinois.
As it works with the State Recognition Task Force, IAMT continues to make new connections and forge in new directions. We are pleased to introduce a Community Partners section of the website. We invite you to add your group/facility to our list to show your support for Music Therapy. IAMT is interested in returning the support through working with you in your advocacy efforts as well. This interaction and cooperation can only strengthen the resource bases for the people of Illinois. We encourage you to follow our advocacy efforts on Facebook as well to stay up to date on our efforts.
