Student Retreat A Success!
On February 26, students from Illinois State University and Western Illinois University (as well as an incoming freshman music therapy student and an incoming graduate music therapy student) attended the IAMT Student Retreat 2011, put together by IAMT and hosted, this year, by Illinois State University. Students had the opportunity to participate in several learning experiences throughout the day including a closer look at Neurologic Music Therapy, Starting and Maintaining a Private Practice, Group work in Music Therapy Treatment, Resume Building and a “E-Drum Experience” over Skype. The participating students were able to socialize and network during an extended lunch and continued the socialization into the evening with a dinner hosted by Crescendo, the Illinois State University music therapy club.
IAMT would like to thank Becky Wellman, Meredith Powers, Kat Fulton, Andrea Crimmins, Cindy Ropp, and Jennifer Jones for helping to collaborate, present, transport students, and help all around to make this a successful day! And a special thank you to the students who came, asked questions and made the day even more special!
